Club Runs

There are 2 different club runs depending on your ability. These both run throughout the year although the faster ones can be a bit thin on the ground during the racing season. They all meet at The Dog and Gun Pub, North Bar (opposite St. Mary's Church).

At 8.30 on Sunday a group of us go out for 2.5 - 3 hrs and this is normally at 16-18mph ish with no stops. This may sound quick but it is normally a bit easier in a group. These are mainly on quiet lanes and the route is decided on the day.

At different times each Sunday a group goes out for a steadier paced ride (13-15mph or speed of the slowest rider) and normally stops at a cafe or pub for lunch (see table below). For more information about these contact Laurie on 01295 279638.

Before coming on a club run please read club run code of conduct below.

CLUB RUN CODE OF CONDUCT

Each rider is responsible for their own safety.

Your bike will need to be in a good and safe roadworthy condition.

Please carry a spare tube and some basic tools. Don't rely on others.

Please be courteous to other road users even if they aren't to you. You are representing the club!

Riders shall ride no more than 2 abreast and shall single out if possible where it will help over taking traffic.

Communication in a group is always important, so please help others and point out, shout out obstacles, potholes, cars etc.

If you are at the front of the group and pull out of a junction please be aware that others might be still waiting.

The club run is not a race and the ride will normally stick together, but still feel free to sprint for the odd sign post etc.
